Missouri Tigers

Hello all. Today I'll tell you a little bit about the Missouri Tigers.

The Missouri Tigers has been in the Big 12 Conference from its establishment in 1996. Since 2001, the Tigers have had Gary Pinkel as their head coach. Pinkel is earned a #1 ranking in 2007, before leading his team to teh 2008 Cotton Bowl victory over Arkansas and the 2008 Alamo Bowl victory over Northwester. Coach Pinkel is also currently holds the third rank in Missouri Tigers History with wins (67-45 .598)

Missouri has seen numerous great coaches. Don Faurot coached his team to the most wins in Missouri history (101) and had the longest tenure (19 seasons. Faurot's teams also won three conference titles and went to four bowl games. Another coach was Dan Devine who had the highest winning percentage (record: 93–37–7 .715), won two conference championships, earned a #1 ranking in 1960, and won the Orange Bowl against Navy in 1961.

The third coach I will mention is Al Onofrio who was known for many major upsets, including two consecutive victories against Nebraska in Lincoln, a win against Alabama in Birmingham in 1975, a victory over Notre Dame in 1972, a win against Southern California in Los Angeles in 1975, and a win against Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio in 1975. Warren Powers was also a very successful coach who led the Missouri tigers to four straight bowl appearances from 1978 to 1981 and the last of three consecutive Missouri victories over Nebraska at Lincoln in 1978.

Over the years, the Missouri Tigers have really proven themselves so get ready this season or you'll be left in the dust. Happy Monday!
