Oklahoma Sooners

I am back today with the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Oklahoma Sooners football program has been a football powerhouse since their establishment in 1895. The Sooners are thought of as “the most successful program of the modern era.” The Oklahoma Sooners have had 524 wins, a winning percentage of .76, several national championships, 42 conference championships, 149 All-Americans and five Heisman Trophy Winners since 1945. The Sooners also have a total of 22 coaches and players inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and hold the longest winning streak in D1 football history with 47 victories in a row.

Over the decades, the Oklahoma Sooners have been blessed with multiple eras of greatness including, most recently, the Stoops era. In 1999, Bob Stoops was hired as head coach who had proven himself over his 18 years as a player and coach. Stoops immediately went to work in restoring what used to be the Sooner-powerhouse in the conference. In his first years, the Sooners improved dramatically. The Oklahoma Sooners would continue to smash their opponents over the next decade, gaining national titles and Big 12 Championships. The Sooners are hungry for another victorious season and, with Coach Stoops by their side, you better watch out!
