Football Recruiting Update

Over at the Big 12 Blog run on ESPN they wrote an informative piece setting the record straight on how many recruits each program has as of June 2nd. You should definitely read more about it here, but in the meantime I figured I'd give you readers a quick summary.

Coaching Spotlight: Bill Snyder, Kansas State Wildcats

Bill Snyder is practically a Big 12 Football legend. After all, Kansas State University's stadium is even named after him (the Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?).

Snyder played football for only a semester at the University of Missouri before transferring to William Jewell College and playing defensive back. He was a coach in a series of high schools before becoming an assistant under Hayden Fry, first at North Texas State and then at the University of Iowa. In 1989, he became head coach at Kansas State University for the first time. What really separates Snyder is that he has been the coach at KSU twice. Once from 1989-2005 and from 2009-present. He stepped down in 2005 for Ron Prince, but replaced Prince when he stepped down in 2008. He’s been a very successful coach since, both on the field and off in his treatment of potential controversy over the years.

Besides just coaching the KSU football team, Snyder is also involved in the community by raising funds for the school library.
