Oklahoma University suffers a blow from the suspension of four football players

Lots of people set their sights high for the Oklahoma football team for 2012-13, but yesterday the Sooners’ coach Bob Stoops announced the suspensions of receivers Jaz Reynolds, Trey Franks and Kameel Jackson and reserve safety Quentin Hayes. The indefinite suspensions could spell disaster for the team, since Reynolds, Franks and Jackson have become the primary receivers for the team. Only one other receiver has caught a pass all season!

So, without these four players, what can the Sooners expect next season? Reynolds, Franks and Hayes may be returning next season, but probably not for the opening game, and Jackson has announced he will be transferring next semester. Quarterback Landry Jones has been left without a receiver for his senior year season and the team has suffered a loss from these suspensions. Thankfully, OU has signed on several more talented football players, including three in the ESPN top 150 rankings. It’s too early to tell for sure what will happen, but you can bet we’ll be watching closely!
