Gary Pinkel has a lot of experience in Division I football. While studying for his bachelor of science, he joined the Kent State Golden Flashes where he played tight end, eventually being inducted into the Kent Athletic Hall of Fame. At Kent State University, he also shared a room with the great linebacker Jack Lambert.

He worked as an assistant coach for sixteen years at the University of Washington and Bowling Green State University before becoming a full head coach at the University of Toledo. He coached at the University of Toledo for nine years before being chosen as the Missouri Tigers' head coach. He has been at the University of Missouri for eleven years.

Pinkel lives in Colombia, Missouri and is known for his love of motorcycling.

Yes, Missouri moved conferences. But it's been in the Big 12 for 100 years and, officially, they haven't joined the SEC yet. Plus, it's always nice to have someone else to cheer for.
