The Florida State University debate continues

A while back, a rumor came up that Florida State University could become yet another member of the Big 12 (Big Ten? Big Eleven?), but there hasn't been a confirmation or denial yet.

Why would FSU join the Big 12? The profits from most Big 12  schools are higher than FSU has earned recently, which has to be appealing. But some critics of the option say that the Big 12 is a more difficult league than the ACC - would FSU really have a chance against some of the bigger schools?

The spokesman for the Atlantic Coastal Conference, FSU's current conference, said that there have been no serious talks to move FSU and that the president of the school, Eric Barron, had sent an e-mail that heavily implied that FSU will stay.

What do you think about the debate? Should Florida State join the Big 12 or not?
